WoW: Forever Warrior changes
Every Warrior change in Blizzard's official WoW: Forever beta development notes, newest build first. 53 lines across 4 builds. Each line links to the official post.
What changed for Warriors, in brief
- Rage got a full pass: basic-attack crits generate 100% more Rage (Oct 1). Fixed bugs that gave less Rage with more Stamina and mishandled crits and crushing blows (Oct 8).
- Fury was rebuilt (Oct 1): Dual Wield Specialization no longer adds off-hand Rage or hit. New talents Lingering Rage, Furious Precision and Gore Drinker. Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage are gone, and Whirlwind always hits with both weapons. Bloodthirst Attack Power ratio is 45%.
- Arms: Slam's cooldown is 18 sec, reducible with Improved Slam (Sep 24). Spearing Strike works with any weapon but needs Battle Stance. Deep Wounds is required for Impale again (Oct 8). Slam ignores spell pushback (Oct 15).
- Protection & threat: Sunder Armor threat corrected. Rend and Sunder tag enemies instantly. Demoralizing Shout generates threat. Toughness is removed and several Protection talents moved up a row.
- Group play: Battle Shout is raid-wide (Oct 15).

General Warrior changes
- Fixed a bug where Rage calculations on Damage absorbs were not being handled correctly. Damage absorbs should now be properly ignored when calculating Rage received from attacks (as if the Warrior/Druid had no absorb active).fixuncertain source
Developers’ notes: Previously, we were balancing Rage gained around Warriors having 50% Armor. While this was appropriate for a tank, it was not appropriate for questing Warriors. We have rebalanced Rage gains based on appropriate values per level in the 20% to 40% range, varying by level.
- Demoralizing Shout: Fixed an issue where it generated no threat. Now puts some threat on all affected targets.fix source
- Fixed an issue where the Mausoleum Trigger for the quest “Ulag the Cleaver” would take a long time to reactivate.fix source
Arms
- Deep Wounds is once again a required talent to reach Impale. source
- Fixed a bug where Deep Wounds was scaling with attack power for your Offhand weapon.fix source
Developers’ notes: Deep Wounds does not scale with Attack Power but is a rolling DoT compared to Classic/Vanilla.
Protection
- Fixed an issue causing Last Stand to not grant the correct amount of health to the player on activation.fix source

Developers’ notes: Because of the above bug, our tests needed some correcting, so we did another pass on Fury Warrior.
- Warriors’ Dual Wield Specialization is granting both your Main hand and Off-hand 2/4/6/8/10% hit chance. It should only be granted to your Off-hand.known issueuncertain source

- Dual Wield Specialization no longer provides a 20/40/60/80/100% increase to your Off-Hand weapon’s Rage generation. source
- Fixed an issue with Unbridled Rage having a lower proc chance than intended.fix source
Developers’ notes: Our goal here is to give Fury more access to utility and meaningful choices early in the tree for leveling, and free up points later for more choices instead of being stuck placing points into Enrage to get Flurry.
- Booming Voice is now a 10/20/30/40/50% increase area of effect to your Shouts and a 5/10/15/20/25% reduction to their Rage costs. source
- Unbridled Wrath no longer grants twice as much Rage to two-handed weapons. source

- Enrage is no longer required to reach the Flurry talent. source
- Death Wish is now required to reach the Flurry talent. source

- Berserker Rage is now available at level 30 (Was 32) source

General Warrior changes
- Sunder Armor: Corrected the threat values on all ranks, including a small increase to threat generated from Attack Power. source
- Druid, Mage, Priest, Warrior, and Warlock are available for testing the Cooldown Manager.uncertain source
- Stance flyout for Warriors.uncertain source
Protection
- Swapped the positions of the Bastion (Row 5) and Focused Rage (Row 6) talents. source
Developers’ notes: We wanted to give players Focused Rage sooner to smooth out progression, as opposed to more damage from Bastion. This should smooth out some of the feeling while leveling as Protection before obtaining Shield Slam.
Arms
- Bloodthrill’s chance to activate increased to 4/8/12/16/20% (was 2/4/6/8/10%). source
- Bloodthrill only activates off of Main Hand melee attacks. This includes Cleave and Heroic Strike. source
- Slam’s cooldown has been increased to 18 seconds (was 15 seconds). source
- Improved Slam now reduces the cooldown of Slam by 1.5/3 seconds. source
